Spaceman

You never realize what you miss until you actually take a look around

Marty has myspace I have here and we both blog. I have been away for quite a while and a while still to go before i come home. I have been in army training for several months and have one more month to go before i can be back in the flow of things. When i listen to or read the things my friends say i wonder what i miss out on even when i know much hasn't changed where i'm from. it's hard for things to change.

I dont have much time to write because i am on a schedule and i can't say much about what I have learned its just that I can't wait to come home.

Inch by inch, step by step, and I grow forever more.

Life's been exciting these past few weeks. One Army drill is behind me and another one is just right around the corner. I have been using this time frame as pillars to judge the time that has passed since school has ended and has been out for over a month now. Alot has happened in such a short time. I have planned my own wedding, which is the 29th of December, made several trips up north to Salt Lake (thus helping the economy and the carbon foot print), and saw my favorite band live in concert which was a life goal of mine. I got my patriarchal blessing recently and am working on the Melchizedek Priesthood at the moment my goal is to get it before I go to Basic Combat Training in July. I have a video audition for the LDS Church coming up I sent in my information now I just have to wait for them to write me back. I hope they accept me, a small start can lead to a bigger step towards my ultimate goal of being a successful film actor.

Counting Sheep While Still Awake

I have been trying to get used to waking up at 4:30 am so that way when I get to basic in July it wont kill me. lately the problem hasnt been waking up (which is still a problem) but it has been falling asleep. I have tried going to bed at ten four the past four days and every night has ended past midnight thus making the four am starts nearly impossible to accomplish.

Things for acting have slowed to a halt at the moment. With school over there are no plays to audition for and with the time constraint I have joining anything now would be pointless. I passed all my class in the spring semester. So that made me happy and a good start for the summer. I am working on a new script that i hope to write over the next school year and produce the following summer I just hope I have a budget to accomplish it. Time and Money was the cause of the failure of my first attempt at any amateur film projects but this next one I hope to make it big. Big enough and good enough to enter it into the the Sundance Film Festival and other area film festivals. Its one of the better hopes I have to get recognized by the industry.

I am engaged which has me both excited and nervous at the same time. I have three big life events happening within a year. Going to Basic and AIT, turning 21, and getting married all within ten months its crazy but hey these are all choices I made and I am happy with my decision.

Oh the weather outside is...

It has been a long time since I have been on here, huh, I guess that's moving for you and then just utterly forgetting that you have one of these. Seeing as how I am up keeping this mainly as a acting site (per say) that I should talk about whats going on in my acting life. Its a new semester and with it a new schedule. The only thing that actually stayed the same is the fact that my upper level ROTC class is pretty much the same from last year.
I am taking more acting classes this semester. At nine in the morning I have voice and diction which is where we discuss the International Phonetic Alphabet and practice it in class. Acting I is basically just that intro to acting which I am liking what we are doing in that class. We are focusing on subjects and topics that I have never thought of before now. Studying the way people walk and talk. I mean its new to me but it makes a lot of since and its just the basics of it so I guess I shouldn't feel to proud of myself for doing the baby steps, but we all have to start somewhere right? Then of course come the gen ed classes that we all have to take and I am just glad that for English the subject we are learning is pretty cool.
I have auditioned for several things already and have already done one performance for 24hr theater. Needless to say I had to kiss a guy but when your an actor you have to take everything that is given to you. I have auditions on the fourth for a musical that I hope I get. I am memorizing "Master of the House." by Les Miserables so here's to hoping. I am also working on two film projects that hopefully will be a success. One of them is a project that I auditioned for and I think it might be a mistake but hey the more experience the better I suppose its a made for educational purposes film and its about abstinence, yeah that makes me feel awkward thinking of it but hey don't turn down a role that isn't morally bad. The second one is a project that I have started on my own. I wrote it and am directing, producing, lead acting, lead financing and lead editing it. I will admit it has been very very stressful. But all good things come to those who work.
I am still joining the army and I cant wait to enlist. With some of my enlistment money I am going to buy some new video cameras to play with. I am also going to, after basic training, go to some film camps to learn even more. That's all the plan anyways who knows what will happen in the future.
